The Tigers have begun this contest well, and should even have a couple of more goals on the board, having dominated disposals (15-10 inside-50s) and territory.
They have largely moved the ball well, with Jasper Alger twice finding space to convert. They want to move the ball quickly, and this has at times troubled the Magpies and their older legs.
Indeed, it was odd to see Scott Pendlebury mis-kick straight to Nick Vlastuin at half-back.
Nick Daicos has both of the Magpies’ goals, one care of free kick for holding the ball on Toby Nankervis, the other after a 50-metre penalty on the wing.
He has only three touches, however, with Jordan De Goey, Dan Houston and Josh Daicos finding plenty of the ball. This shapes as an arm-wrestle.
