It’s been a very successful day for Australia’s bowls contingent so far.
The Aussies are four from four with one match left on the schedule.
Ellen Fife won her singles match over Falkland Island’s Daphne Arthur-Almond in two sets, men’s pairs duo Corey Wedlock and Aaron Teys won their match over Tonga in a tie-break, while para men’s pair James Reynolds and Damien Delgado beat South Africa, also in a tie-break. In the women’s para pairs, Louise Hoskell and Serena Bonnell got the win over Malaysia.
In the standings (only the top player from each group advances to the finals and the chance at a medal), Fife tops her group though her closest rival, from Northern Ireland, has a match in hand and will play later today. And Australia are second in their group behind Northern Ireland in the men’s pairs.
In the para combinations, where there is just one group per gender and the top four advance, the women are currently second on the table and the men first.
