Any chance we can have that last half-hour of our lives back?
The opening quarter of the Adelaide v Richmond clash hit no scorching heights, but that won’t matter a lick to the Tigers, who deservedly edged their way in front when Mykelti Lafau – who has both his team’s goals – kicked truly from the scoreboard pocket after the quarter-time siren.
Lafau’s superb finishing aside, it was a forgettable opening term marred by regular skill errors – even before the rain briefly started coming down.
Play was regularly contained between the arcs and the Crows, in particular, look flat.
Coming off a gritty win over West Coast, the Tigers have had the edge in contest and territory and, while they haven’t sparkled, their surprise lead is well deserved.
Richmond led by five points at quarter-time.
