Alleged Bondi terrorist Naveed Akram is set to face a string of new charges.
They include 10 counts of shooting with intent to murder, three counts of wounding with intent to murder and six counts of firing with intent to resist arrest.
The new counts were listed on court records on Wednesday but had not yet officially been served.
The charges are in addition to 59 charges previously laid, which included 15 counts of murder, one count of committing a terrorist act and 40 counts of attempted murder. Akram has not yet pleaded.
Fifteen people were killed in the mass shooting at the Jewish Chanukah By The Sea event on December 14.
Akram’s father, Sajid, was killed by police during their alleged massacre.
Speaking outside Downing Centre Local Court, Akram’s lawyer Leonie Gittani said new charges in major cases were not surprising, while clarifying that the defence had not been served official court attendance notices at this stage.
“Things like this happen in criminal matters,” Gittani said.
“It’s a very big matter and it’s a long road ahead. These things don’t come as a surprise, if I can answer it in that way. If they’re to be filed once they’re filed, we’ll deal with that then”.
