An exasperated Alastair Clarkson has summed up his Roos’ record 124-point thrashing at the hands of the Dockers in just seven words, opening his post-match press conference with, “Fremantle were good, and we were dreadful”.
The Dockers piled on the final 19 goals of the game in Bunbury to win by the biggest margin in club history – 24.11 (155) to 4.7 (31) – and Clarkson admitted the result carried with it “a bit of shame”.
“We want to be coming over here and putting on a better performance than what we did today,” he said.
“They sat us on the back foot early, in terms of contest, and we never really recovered from it.
